MOUNTAIN EAST MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES CHANGE OF LEADERSHIP IN PURCHASING DEPARTMENT

Bob Wilkinson, head of the purchasing department, has resigned, effective immediately, due to internal disagreements. Johnny Toler, the assistant head of the department, will replace Wilkinson.

Toler brings 13 years of experience and a background in pharmacy to the position. He began his career at Mountain East Medical Center as an assistant druggist in 1975 and transferred to the purchasing department in 1978.

Wilkinson will join the staff at City Memorial Hospital.

“Bob’s abilities will be greatly missed at this hospital,” said hospital administrator Harry Illscott. “But I know that Johnny Toler is a person we can all depend on to do whatever is necessary to keep his department going. I have great faith in him and in this hospital.”

Toler said he is honored to step into the role and is dedicated to improving the purchasing department.

“I learned from a fine man — Bob Wilkinson — and I hope I can continue to build on the foundation he established,” Toler said.
